The A.C.E Ride

The A.C.E. Ride is supporting the Wimmera Drug Action Taskforce, and an opportunity to get out and about, enjoy our local scenery, improve your physical fitness and set yourself a challenge.  The largely flat Wimmera landscape is ideal for getting around on a bike. For the rider who regularly attends such events and enjoys ‘clocking up the Ks’ with friends, for whom 100 Kilometres is a pleasant days ride and who enjoys riding at a reasonable clip with the right gear to do it – to the rider who would prefer to travel along a bike path, a shorter distance, but still with a goal in view.

Ride for Youth

Australia’s premier charity event for the prevention of youth suicide and depression

The Hawaiian Ride for Youth is held annually over 4.5 days, with riders travelling from Albany or Geraldton to Perth over a total of more than 3000kms to raise funds and awareness for Youth Focus. While cycling through towns in WA’s South West, Great Southern, Wheatbelt and Mid West the riders visit high schools to engage and inform students on issues of youth suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm, as well as the services that Youth Focus provides.

Goldfields Cyclassic & Community Challenge

Australia’s Richest Handicap Cycle Race

Cycling has been part of the Goldfields since the courier cyclists in the 1890’s carried messages around the Goldfields before the telegraph line came to the region. The 2019 Goldfields Cyclassic & Community Challenge will continue as a two-stage handicap race across the rich and historic landscape of the Western Australian outback from Kalgoorlie-Boulder to Menzies and on to Leonora.

Held over the WA Day long weekend the two-stage event will be run as two individual races. With approximately $20,000 in prize money up for grabs EACH day across a variety of grades this is a marvelous opportunity for both the professional and amateur rider.

For the second year running we are proud to announce that the Goldfields Cyclassic has been included in the Element Road Series. Anyone vying for points in the road series can add this outback adventure to their race plan.

If you fancy a weekend of cycling on the super-smooth tarmac of the 4.95km International Circuit (the same one the V8’s use!) with the freedom to go at your own speed, without the interference of traffic, then come and join us – as a soloist or as a member of a team – we will be running a variety of events so there will be one just for you!

As always, our Weekend Festival of Cycling will consist of our three flagship Endurance Cycling Relays – 24 hour, 12 hour and 6 hour – so something for everyone, whether you are riding to compete, fulfil a personal challenge or to ride for charity.  You can enter as a soloist or as a team of 2, 4, 6 or 8. Entries are open to riders aged 18 and above.  Entries for 16/17 year olds will also be considered on an individual basis at the discretion of our Race Director, Stuart O’Grady.

Our 24 hour Challenge is the first and only event in Australasia where you can qualify for RAAM.  

UMCA members can also earn points for the World Series in any of our Endurance Challenges.

Lake Hume Cycle Challenge

A great Cycle Event – for a truly great cause.
The 2020 Drummond Real Estate Lake Hume Cycle Challenge features beautiful NE Victorian scenery and around Lake Hume. Run each February by local Rotary Clubs, it’s a great value Event with country hospitality guaranteed. Proceeds for the 2020 Event are again going to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
The Event consists of four (4) rides catering for all fitness levels and abilities (7 – 126 km) and there is post ride entertainment. If you’re a top end rider, try the iconic Granya Grind (126 km). Ride fees range from $10 – 100.
The road rides take in spectacular undulating hills, attractive farmlands, river flats and the impressive Lake Hume reservoir. Shorter town and family friendly rides meander along paved bike paths incorporating natural parkland, the Murray River and picturesque creeks.
The start and finish is at the Wodonga Racecourse. From 10am, returning riders and supporters can rest and revive at the “Chill Zone” and be part of the “cycle community” catching up with old mates and make new ones. Cool off with a chilled beer, soft drink or ice cream, satisfying stall food; and enjoy the sweet chill out sounds of local musicians.

Gear Up Girl SA

Gear Up Girl SA is Adelaide’s biggest bike ride for women with an aim to get more women cycling. There are 3 different rides to suit people of all cycling abilities.  This is the perfect occasion to discover Adelaide by bike in a fun, safe and supported environment with Bike SA and your chance to help us get more bums on bikes. Tim’s Ride

Tim’s Ride is an annual event to remember Tim Anderson who was tragically killed when cycling in March 2012. It also aims to bring together all parts of the cycling community to improve cycling safety with an emphasis on visibility and interaction with vehicles.  The aim is to appeal to all parts of the cycling community and all levels of cycling ability so there will be two different routes. Any profits or donations go towards Tim’s Scholarship which is managed by Youth Focus and assists a young person associated with the organisation with their tertiary education.
