This is Peaks Challenge Falls Creek, recognised as one of the top 10 toughest one day cycling events in the world. If you’re up for it, you’ll tackle a 235km course through some of the world’s most picturesque and challenging terrain with over 4000 vertical metres of climbing over three major climbs: Tawonga Gap, Mount Hotham, and the beast that is the back of Falls Creek. An exciting challenge of self inflicted pain.

The A.C.E. Ride is supporting the Wimmera Drug Action Taskforce, and an opportunity to get out and about, enjoy our local scenery, improve your physical fitness and set yourself a challenge. The largely flat Wimmera landscape is ideal for getting around on a bike. For the rider who regularly attends such events and enjoys ‘clocking up the Ks’ with friends, for whom 100 Kilometres is a pleasant days ride and who enjoys riding at a reasonable clip with the right gear to do it – to the rider who would prefer to travel along a bike path, a shorter distance, but still with a goal in view.

A great Cycle Event – for a truly great cause.
The 2020 Drummond Real Estate Lake Hume Cycle Challenge features beautiful NE Victorian scenery and around Lake Hume. Run each February by local Rotary Clubs, it’s a great value Event with country hospitality guaranteed. Proceeds for the 2020 Event are again going to the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
The Event consists of four (4) rides catering for all fitness levels and abilities (7 – 126 km) and there is post ride entertainment. If you’re a top end rider, try the iconic Granya Grind (126 km). Ride fees range from $10 – 100.
The road rides take in spectacular undulating hills, attractive farmlands, river flats and the impressive Lake Hume reservoir. Shorter town and family friendly rides meander along paved bike paths incorporating natural parkland, the Murray River and picturesque creeks.
The start and finish is at the Wodonga Racecourse. From 10am, returning riders and supporters can rest and revive at the “Chill Zone” and be part of the “cycle community” catching up with old mates and make new ones. Cool off with a chilled beer, soft drink or ice cream, satisfying stall food; and enjoy the sweet chill out sounds of local musicians.

Here’s your chance to be part of this great cycling event! In our past rides the cyclists have dealt with the extremes of weather, gentle undulations, galling winds and punctures from bindis, but they managed to build up strength and team spirit to continue for the main cause – riding for Australian Health Research dollars – and discovered they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Audax Alpine Classic- not just another bike ride…arguably the most difficult single day cycle event in Australia. Audax rides are non-competitive long distance tours by bicycle, called “randonnees”. The challenge of Audax is not in racing, but in riding at your own pace to finish within the time limit. Audax events are held in most parts of Australia, and you will be made very welcome when participating in rides when visiting other Regions. Rides are open to all reasonably fit riders – non-Audax members are most welcome to join our friendly and supportive participants.
Undulating – Challenging

Riders make their way through open rolling country roads with the breath-taking Brindabella Ranges as the backdrop scenery. Interstate riders always comment on how quickly this ride leaves the cities outskirts and heads into country roads, and tranquil surroundings.
