The Central South Island Charity Bike Ride covers almost 400km’s of spectacular South Island countryside. Join us on the Central South Island Charity Bike Ride is easy! You don’t have to be an expert cyclist as there are six different grades to suit all levels of experience.
Epic
The K2 is possibly the toughest one day cycle challenge in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also one of the most scenic and varied with the route traveling through subtropical forest, pacific coastlines, rural farmland and the Pohutukawa coastline of the Hauraki Gulf.
The event is named after Kuaotunu, an enchanting community on the wild eastern coastline of the Coromandel Peninsula. In Maori, the name Kuaotunu means “to inspire fear in young animals” ! The 2 represents the almost 200km that the ride will cover. By coincidence K2 is the 2nd highest, and probably the most difficult to climb, mountain in the World.
Tough & Challenging
The Lake Wairarapa Cycle Challenge is a fun ride around the lake through traditional New Zealand rural landscapes. This year’s ride is expected to be another great day of fun and enjoyment for all. Enjoy the majestic Wairarapa scenery, if you manage to see it, and great cycling along two flattish courses of 64k and 80k that are suitable for all riding abilities.
Varied
It’s a simple formula… Ride as many complete laps of the Manfeild racing circuit as you can in 6 hours. Do it solo or get in a team and take turns out on the track.

If you are wanting a hitout pre Taupo Cycle Challenge that simulates the course and tests your ‘readiness and metal’ to take on this challenge then the Avantiplus Tour of Wairarapa Funride is the event for you. New this year a small course change and refresh and a 90KM event. The course passes through scenic rural areas surrounding Masterton.
Rolling & Challenging
Tour de Manawatu Charity Cycle Challenge attracts around 1000 riders, both local and from further afield. The rides are ideal for a fun, family event as both young and old can enter as a personal challenge. While enjoying the ride, you will also be cycling through the streets of Palmerston North and the scenic Manawatu District countryside. Why not join in?

The Surf Highway 100km Ride (2018) Starting at the TSB Hub Hawera, this is a ride north along the Surf Highway 45 to New Plymouth.

The Feilding Festival of Cycling is a cycling challenge for all abilities, with 3 rides to choose from: Three recreational rides 20km, 50km and 90 km with great spot prizes, a Classic Cycle NZ race for licensed riders with cash prizes, and a Mountain Bike Eliminator Race. The Motu Challenge is one of the country’s premier multisport races, with over NZ$30,000 worth of prizes. Calling all Cyclists! The Motu 160 runs alongside the Motu Challenge and includes a 65km mountain bike ride and a 95km road bike ride, enter as either an individual or a team.
Varied
The annual Martinborough Charity Fun Ride, organised by the South Wairarapa Rotary Club, is a fun cycle ride through the Wairarapa for the competitive rider as well as the social rider, starting in Martinborough and passing through the surrounding countryside. Join this fun tour over 48k, 67km or 115km riding through some of New Zealand’s most memorable countryside: famed for its great micro-climate, wines, olives, agriculture, and of course hospitality.
